Yes, It was bound to happen.... Around November of 1996, Neostar, or better known as Babbage's and Software Etc., could be seen closing stores and appearing to be in the process of shutting down. More or less, this was true. Now under new ownership, a new corporate name, and a complete overhaul, "Babbage's Etc" is giving it another try (and apparently doing fine so far). However, I hope to clear up a lot of questions and rumors that had come up regarding Neostar and its demise late 1996. Since I was on the managing staff, and had over two years experience in the company (before the merger of the two halves), most of this was no mystery to me. Obviously for red-tape reasons, most of what you'll see here consist of press releases. But hey, no one is going to be monitoring my e-mail account, so go ahead and drop me a note if you like. Don't forget to convert everything to past tense. Onward... |
